Bullet-proof native sedge tolerant of most garden conditions. Steely-blue, strappy leaves form a dense knee-high crown.  Plant in drifts for best effect, in front border, to fill in between bedding plants, or to complement plants with showy flowers but insignificant foliage.  In early spring, flower spikes emerge; strong new foliage comes after flowering, beginning green and aging through summer to the sharp powder blue that makes this plant really sing out.
