Dark wiry stems and elongated heart-shaped leaves make this low-growing aster a great weaver, ground cover and filler in the spring and summer garden.  Late in the year, when most plants are spent, white wood aster brightens up the garden with hundreds of small starry white flowers glowing with a gold center.  Thrives in dry shade but becomes lush in moist soil.  Like all asters, cut hard at least once in spring to set the foliage back.
